The seniors of CHS Cross Country completed their careers knowing that they helped lay the groundwork for more great runs to come for the Crusaders. The varsity team finished fourth at the All-Catholic Championships while the JV squad won the title with a great performance on a memorable day for CHS at Lancaster’s Como Lake Park. Two sophomores were part of the varsity Crusaders’ effort while there were several personal bests that led CHS to the JV title. “Before the JV race,” CHS coach Paul McGrath said, “I told the team: ‘Today we will send a message to the league. “ ‘The next era of Canisius High School Cross Country has begun. The future of this team starts with today’s race.’ ”” The JV team won the title with a score of 30 points, with Brayden Harbold ’25 winning the individual title in a personal-best 20 minutes, 29 seconds over the 5K course.
