A very adventurous and epic winter camp trip just wrapped up for our DJDS Wilderness Trailblazers high school class! Two days spent yurt camping at Ranch 41 in Florissant, CO gave our high school students, led by Ms. Alix, lessons in outdoor resiliency, camp cooking, and team bonding. All while frolicking in the snow, setting up an outdoor kitchen, learning about our wolf population at a wildlife center (with howling wolves!), playing UNO and conversation games, climbing tree houses, creating a cozy cocoon sleeping hut, and exploring Garden of the Gods. How lucky we are to have students eager to engage in this new course opportunity - geared toward getting our youth outdoors, learning essential life skills, and valuing these experiences. #denverjds #outdoorclassroom #wintercamping
