In honor of Puerto Rican Heritage Month, the Centre Spotlight shines on Empanada Mama and its founder, Inez Melendez. Growing up, Inez’s life revolved around family, food, and gathering together around the table. Inspired by her mother’s cooking, she turned her love of Puerto Rican cuisine into a business, starting out with a food truck before opening her vibrant Chicago location. With a vision to bring the tastes, experiences, and rich culture of Puerto Rico to her new space, Inez collaborated closely with the Centre team on the design.
