Southern California broke records last year when Hurricane Hilary (plus some 30 other atmospheric rivers) barreled through the region. Now, over halfway into this year’s wet season, we likely won’t be breaking any records, despite having two “thousand-year” rain events only weeks apart. Those storms now account for over half of the South Coast’s accumulated precipitation since October, when our water year began. Oh. Happy belated water new year. And more rain could be on its way: an atmospheric river is projected to reach California as early as next Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center. Judeh will be there to report. 🤏: safinazzal #larain #weather #atmosphericriver
