As wildfires become more frequent across Southern California, shepherds are using their ancient vocation (and the appetite of their sheep and goats) to help mitigate the disastrous effects of climate change. With a herd of 700, @shepherdess.land.and.livestock set their sheep and goats onto untraditional places, like say, the canyons behind a city. There, the sheep and goats get to work, polishing off the landscape and eating the dry vegetation that can serve as quick-burning fuel during a wildfire. Judeh learns more about this possible new side hustle. #wildfires #california #sustainability #ojai #latimes
