In this photo from 2002, NASA astronaut David Wolf is riding the Canadarm2 robotic arm as he installs a camera on the outside of the International Space Station. Wolf visited the ISS on NASA's STS-112 mission, which sent a crew of six to the station aboard space shuttle Atlantis.
There have been over 270 spacewalks outside the International Space Station since 1998, setting up new experiments, swapping out hardware, and otherwise keeping the orbiting laboratory ship-shape.
