⚠️ ARTIST AT WORK ⚠️
Space meets art in one of NASA astronaut Don Pettit’s “Science of Opportunity” experiments aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
For this specific experiment, Pettit grew thin wafers of water ice using the orbiting lab’s freezer and photographed them with a polarizing filter in front of a blank computer screen — showing off the colorful fragments of ice crystals seen here.
“Science, or should I say Nature, has a way of presenting surprising beauty if one is willing to look.” – Don Pettit
