Atlas Lions Roar in NY. Steinway Street in Queens has been the hub for Morocco fans this whole tournament. With every passing phase, the crowds have grown and grown, finally reaching a fever pitch yesterday morning. The quarterfinal was set, and we got up bright and early to make it out to Dar Yemma Restaurant, one of the most popular Moroccan spots in the area. They were fully booked, and many fans had to resort to watching the game through the windows of the place. The multitude of spectators only got bigger as the game wore on, and En-Nesyri’s goal right before halftime sent shockwaves though the entire block. You could hear it shake through the walls of Dar Yemma, over to Casablanca, and into Al Thumama stadium. When the final whistle blew, the fans poured into the streets for the celebration of a lifetime. They’d made history by becoming the first African nation to make the semifinals at a World Cup.
