Mobile gaming brought in more revenue than both console and PC gaming last year ($100 billion vs. $88 billion). Is it really any surprise that mobile esports have also grown exponentially over the past few years? Live viewership of mobile esports grew almost 600% in 2019 alone, and has shown no signs of stopping in spite of the pandemic. But what does the future of mobile esports look like? According to some, it includes an increase in the range of competitors in terms of both age and gender with the help of accessibility that comes along with mobile gaming. We might also expect an increase in casual competitive competitions, which would lead to an increase in potential partnerships for manufacturers, brands, and non-endemic companies. What do you think is next for mobile esports?
