Happy birthday to our Fillmore Search & Rescue Team- vcsar1! 🎉 Seventy-six years ago Team 1 was founded when an airplane went down in the rugged and remote wilderness behind Fillmore.  Local ranchers on horseback rallied together and formed a rescue party to assist the Sheriff’s Office in the recovery.  Later that week, the sheriff at the time made it official and just like that Team 1 was born.  While the tactics and tools have changed, the mission has not. Team 1, as with all our search and rescue teams, is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to any location for service.  Sometimes its during the day on a snowy mountain top, other times it's in total darkness.
