Group 1-winning three-year-old standardbred colt Cold Chisel recuperates after sustaining a leg injury in the NZB Airfreight Ashburton Flying Stakes on Labour Day. The impressive bay colt was selected for Montana Park's slot as a top prospect in the $500,000 VELOCITY slot race at Addington Raceway's Show Day Twilight race meeting. However, he is confined to box rest for now as his injury heals. When Cold Chisel appeared lame after the race, he was immediately treated by the on-course vet and safely transported by horse ambulance to Canterbury Equine Clinic for diagnostic assessment and specialist treatment. With the best of treatment and care, this successful equine athlete will likely be back on track in the future.
