Chicago Marathon Race Recap, Part 10: I was catching sainabetsy and mgcentro quickly and knew I would probably surpass them if I kept my cadence. I ran right up next to them as we exchanged some words of encouragement. 🗯️Nice job Betsy 🏃🏿‍♀️🗯️Good job Emma It was a quick exchange, but one of great respect. I have always admired Betsy. I looked up to her immensely in college. She was an icon in Cross-Country and the 10k, finding herself beating the likes of Aliphine Tuliamuk, Jordan Hasay, andAbbey D’Agostino, to name a few. I always dreamed of being as fast as Betsy. I find myself now being in even more awe of her. She recently had her first son and became the 3rd fastest US Marathoner of all time (2:19:17).
