SU’s chapter of Brighten a Day acts as a safe haven for students for students who want to give back, aiming to make people feel less alone through small acts of kindness.
Composed of over 40 members, the nonprofit meets weekly to makes cards, hosts gatherings and create care packages for people in need.
“I know that I’m surrounded by people who want to be there, and by people who care to go that extra mile and just try to make the community a better place,” Jorge Morales, vice president of the club, said.
