Rye Neck was a team with a lot of reserve battery power in 2024 with thrilling overtime wins in sectionals and regionals this season. The Panthers fell one comeback short Saturday, Nov. 16. Section 1 champion Rye Neck fell to Section 8 champion Carle Place 3-2 in the state Class B state semifinal on Saturday at Middletown High School. Carle Place (16-2-2) scored two goals in under a minute in the first half and added another insurance marker less than a minute into the second half. "It was a well-fought game. We just came up short," Rye Neck senior Rocco Ruscitto said.
