Let's keep Wales beautiful 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 By making a small payment, visitors can help preserve and protect the places we love. Visitor levies are used in Europe, USA, Asia and New Zealand to support local communities and protect the environment. Why not in Wales too..? By giving councils the powers to charge a visitor levy on overnight stays, it will help them raise funds for things like cleaning beaches and toilets, maintaining parks and supporting visitor centres. They would have to consult local communities beforehand. We estimate the earliest a visitor levy could be introduced is 2027. We’ll have more updates next week. #visitorlevy #wales #welshgovernment
