25 YEARS OF MARITIME ARCHAEOLOGY! St. Augustine Lighthouse’s research arm, LAMP (Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program) is turning 25!
The museum founded LAMP in 1999 to conduct research and maritime archaeology to better understand and share 500 years of maritime heritage in St. Augustine and the State of Florida. Our maritime archaeologists and conservators have discovered and preserved artifacts from multiple time periods, including the American Revolutionary War. Historic artifacts can be found on display in our Conservation Lab where you can see the process of conservation. You can also see them preserved in the exhibit, Wrecked! Stay tuned for new additions.
Our archaeologists, conservators, historians, volunteers and students all help make a difference in saving our maritime history!
