It shows a few steps during the process of my commissioned Paris Rooftops oil painting 💙🙌🏻 To answer several of your questions on the previous video post: I prefer to paint on a pre-colored background than on the white canvas because I find it more easy to control the composition and the color scheme. It could be orange but also cold nuances. It mainly depends on the main color range of the future painting as I like to have a contrast with this background. Besides, in the end there might be some spots uncovered by the oil paint that will pop up like tiny colorful accents. I can use for the underpainting acrylic colors or diluted oil colors. If you wonder what are the little wood pieces that I put into the stretchers… They are called tension keys or tightening keys and their purpose is to reinforce the canvas if it begins to sag.
