#HabitatUncoveR3D with Jacky Poon (wildlifechinaman) Filming a Tibetan fox mother on the Tibetan plateau in Qinghai province, China, cinematographer Jacky Poon spent four years documenting her journey, watching her raise 12 cubs in this seemingly hostile landscape. This year’s mission focused on capturing the fox mother hunting while using domestic yaks as cover—though it turned out that getting close to the yaks was more challenging than expected! Remarkably, the fox family showed incredible tolerance, allowing the team to come as close as 8 meters to their den. Experiencing such trust from a wild animal year after year was a true privilege for Jacky. For this shoot, Jacky relied on the V-RAPTOR S35 Rhino, which provided an S35 crop for extra reach, enabling close-up shots without disturbing the fox family. The camera’s 8K resolution offered flexibility for cropping in post, and shooting at up to 120fps ensured no compromise on image quality when a higher frame rate was needed.
