In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, three SBU students were honored at Wednesday’s bonnies_mbb game for their leadership in establishing the Indigenous Student Confederacy sbuisc at Bona’s. Joining President jeffpgingerich for the recognition were Jillian Rea of sbuwomensrugby and a member of the Seneca Nation, as well as Blayze Becker and Onenioteko:wa Maracle (far right) from bonniesmlax and members of the Mohawk Nation. Last fall, SBU and the Seneca Nation formed a committee to strengthen the bonds between the university and the Nation, whose ancestral land the university resides on.
