Hello summer 👋 The sun has found our foreshores and beaches, and we’ll be there to meet it. From today, you’ll see plenty of police about as Operation Summersafe runs day and night over summer in popular spots across our coast. Proactive patrols in vehicles, on foot, horseback, and the water, will see police respond to incidents swiftly. Designated areas have been declared for weapons searches, where police will target those carrying concealed weapons, who are endangering the lives of others. On the water, jet ski riders who speed or endanger the lives of swimmers by riding close to shore in restricted areas are also on our radar. They will be drug and alcohol tested, and in some instances, jet skis can be seized.
