Defying gravity 🪄 This Dragon spacecraft is flying high on our most recent launch that sent an astronaut to the ISS: NASA's SpaceX Crew-9 mission, which lifted off from Florida on Sept. 28, 2024. Dragon takes about 10 minutes to get from the launch pad to orbit, reaching speeds of about 17,000 miles an hour (27,000 kph) as it catches up to and docks with our laboratory in space. If you care to find the International Space Station as it soars overhead, look to the western sky—or possibly the north or south, depending on where on Earth you are.
