The father of a 14-year-old boy accused of carrying out a mass shooting at a Georgia high school has pleaded not guilty to a raft of charges, according to the plea his lawyers entered on Thursday. Fifty-four-year-old Colin Gray was indicted on 29 charges last month, including second-degree murder, manslaughter, cruelty to children, and reckless conduct. Each charge is connected to his son Colt Gray’s September 4 attack at Appalache High School, where he allegedly opened fire on students and staff, killing four. Prosecutors have sought to portray Colin Gray, who is being tried separately from his son, as a negligent father who knowingly ignored his teen son’s declining mental health and growing obsession with school shootings.
