Zero Collisions at UNBC! We are overjoyed to announce that the ongoing project to make the unbc bird-friendly has reached a groundbreaking achievement: zero bird-window collisions in treated areas! This remarkable success is a testament to the ability of collective small actions to have large effects. This project is led by jr_birdnerd , a PhD candidate at UNBC, who advocated for treating the glass, and supported by UNBC’s Dr Kathy Lewis, forest pathologist/microbial ecologist, Dr Russ Dawson, avian ecologist and Randall’s advisor, and a team of dedicated volunteers. In her recent interview, Jeannine shared, “Every effort, every conversation, and every setback has been worth it. Seeing the impact of our work in real-time is a dream come true.” Her dedication has inspired the team and brought awareness to the vital need for bird-safe environments on campus and in her local community.
