When Kalina Pavlovsky walked through the double doors of her wedding reception hall with her new husband and their 7-year-old son by her side, her heart sank. The moment she’d been dreaming of came crashing down. No crowd of cheering loved ones welcomed them with joy and open arms two days after their tiny wedding ceremony on an Oregon beach. Only two of 40 guests who RSVP’d had shown up. Partway through their Nov. 2 reception, three more arrived — for a total of five guests, plus a few of their young children.
