Workers at 11 unionized New Seasons Market locations in the Portland area plan to hold a one-day strike the day before Thanksgiving. The New Seasons Labor Union, which represents more than 1,100 Portland-area grocery workers, said Wednesday’s strike is in response to “numerous ongoing unfair labor practices” committed by the grocer as contract talks have soured. The union has accused New Seasons of bargaining in bad faith, and the two have yet to reach an initial contract agreement since negotiations began over a year ago. The two parties remain far apart on proposals around wages, paid time off, benefits eligibility and holiday pay.
