A visitor levy will help keep Wales beautiful and promote sustainable tourism 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Local authorities will be able to choose to charge on overnight stays in visitor accommodation. This small contribution could help: 🏖️ Keep Welsh beaches clean 🥾 Maintain our beautiful walking trails ❤️ Support local communities. Visitors will be contributing to a sustainable future for tourism in Wales. The levy would be set at: - 75p per person per night for people staying in hostels and on campsite pitches. - £1.25 per person per night for those staying in all other accommodation types. If every council chose to introduce a levy in their area, this small charge could generate up to £33million for our communities. 2027 is the earliest a local council could introduce a levy after consulting with local residents. #visitorlevy #wales #welshgovernment #tourismwales
