A brand new handmade clay pot for every SHS kindergartener's family! This Artist of the Month project honors Maria Martinez, a Puebloan artist internationally renowned for her pottery. Our kindergarteners had the opportunity to learn about Maria's work and then go hands on with making clay pots of their own, using a variety of simple tools to make them unique. They had a lot of fun learning and using their hands! Goal II in action: A deep respect for intellectual values. #shsatherton #shsfinearts
