The United Auto Workers, or UAW, union 4811 bargaining committee reached a tentative agreement with the University of California to extend their current contract. UAW 4811 is the union representing 48,000 academic workers across the UC system. The extension agreement also includes benefits such as a 4% raise for academic student employees and graduate student researchers, which will begin in October 2025, alongside a transitional funding pilot program on each UC campus.
