#Repost drmichaelfrazis ・・・ Deep margins are hard. They never go to plan and you need to book longer than you think and fiddle with the matrix band endlessly until its perfectly sealed. Don’t think that seeing a image on the internet makes it look effortless, its hard work no matter who does them. That being said I was gifted dr.billgergis new matrix band and it made it much easier than it could have otherwise been if I had to cut my own band. Some tips: • Book longer than you think. If a DO normally takes you 30 mind book 40-50 mins • Be prepared to change matrix bands or fiddle until it fits and seals • Its frustrating for me too when the band is perfect and then the patient moves and dislodged it too • Very very rarely does the same band seal the apical zone and create the contact. If it does you got lucky or its not a DME case • Moisture control still is key for DME cases but rubber dam wont be your friend until then margin is raised, use it still. Follow and share for more ...
