Tara Donnelly started GV Angels, a holiday drive for children impacted by gun violence in Bridgeport, Connecticut, seven years ago. She has easily identified 120 children in one city who know the pain of losing someone to gun violence. “But to know that there are over 120 children locally who know the loss of gun violence, and it’s predominantly children who have lost a parent, and it’s predominantly fathers. And just knowing that there’s that many young children who know that loss is difficult.” To support GV Angels, email GVAngelsCT@gmail.com. Listen to Donnelly’s story on the latest episode of our #SharedHumanity podcast, hosted by thisgrievinglife, through our 🔗 in bio or wherever you get your podcasts. In each episode of Shared Humanity, the humans behind the headlines of gun violence tell their own stories, discuss solutions that can work, and teach us how we can best support them.
