We’re #thankful for our cadets and their spirit of selfless service! Following the Corps of Cadets service project in September, the Army ROTC’s New River Battalion cadet battalion commander had the idea to conduct a food drive to continue supporting neighbors in need in Giles County recovering from Hurricane Helene. New River Battalion and non-Army cadets from the Corps of Cadets gathered over 600 pounds of food to ensure 18 families in need were provided a Thanksgiving meal, as well as $400 in gift cards for Christmas gifts for the children in those families. Last Friday, Blacksburg-raised Cadets Jerry Fu, Matthieu Mallet, and Mariana Soto Martinez all volunteered to assist LTC Harrison and his son deliver this very special care package to Giles County authorities for distribution.
