Having overcome many personal challenges, Santana Dorse has found her purpose in Social Work at the UofM. After almost missing due to a passing in her family, Santana attended her college’s award ceremony at the encouragement of her family. She was surprised to be named Social Work Student of the Year 2024. She says, “Through all of my hard work, the amazing professors at UofM, and that Grit ‘N Grind mentality, I was exactly where I deserved to be.” Following graduation, she plans to continue her current job with West Tennessee Forensic Services and pursue her Master of Social Work in a year. #MemphisGrad #GoTigersGo
