These nets can drift for decades, trapping marine life, damaging coral reefs, and polluting ecosystems. Every year, ghost nets are responsible for trapping hundreds of thousands of marine animals, from turtles to whales. They make up a staggering 46% of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
