Giving Tuesday is December 3 this year. In this season of thankfulness, Campus Life invites everyone to come together and give back to our student community by donating to the LSU Food Pantry. According to studies conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office, as many as 1 in 4 college students experience food insecurity. Let’s take that in—that is a lot of students, and our campus is no different. In the fall of 2023, there were 8,766 visits to the pantry, and we distributed over 113,421 pounds of food. Over the summer we adjusted our service model to serve more students. Since August, we have had over 17,000 visits and distributed 132,246 pounds of food. That’s a 95% increase in usage since last year. The need has never been greater! We invite everyone to join us by donating food or funds to the LSU Food Pantry.
