Time for the mural season recap spotlight to land on the αž€αŸ’αž”αžΆαž…αŸ‹αžšαžΆαŸ†αžœαž„αŸ‹ Rom Vong πŸ’™πŸ‡°πŸ‡­πŸ’™ I painted all the Let's Dance, Lowell! murals between July and November, but the process of figuring out which dances/dance groups to feature started in January. Bora from @angkordance was one of the first people in Lowell I talked to and I immediately highlighted that conversation, mentally & literally – any series about dance in Lowell would be incomplete without the participation of this cherished, exemplary, prestigious dance troupe! Angkor is much more than a performance group – they are stewards of traditional Cambodian Classical dance, Folk dance, music, and Khmer language. I worked with Chummeng on this mural. He is a dancer, dance instructor and program director at Angkor. From our first meeting, it was obvious to me that this is a person who is highly skilled not only at this art form, but at sharing it and conveying it in ways that new dancers can easily understand and grasp.
