The Corbett School District is locked in negotiations for a quick-cash loan to help keep the rural public school system in operation through the end of the educational year, officials say. Board members of the east Multnomah County district had hoped to seal the $2 million stop-gap deal with the Multnomah Education Service District during a meeting last month.
