Bow Seat’s 2023 Future Blue Youth Council Member Malika Gizzat recently had the honor of representing youth voices at UNESCO’s International Youth Forum on Creativity and Heritage in China. Over six days, Malika joined 59 other young changemakers from around the globe to explore this year’s theme, “Reimagining Our Heritage: Stories of Resilience and Transformation.” Through cultural exchanges, presentations, and hands-on workshops, the participants celebrated their shared commitment to protecting cultural and natural heritage while building lifelong connections. At the forum, Malika delivered a compelling presentation about the disappearance of the Aral Sea, highlighting the work of her SeeAralSea team to raise awareness about Central Asia’s cultural and environmental heritage.
