Immediately after LA Galaxy announced Riqui Puig tore his ACL, many fans started circulating the clip of Cristián Roldán’s hard foul on him during the 61st minute and blaming him for the injury.
Roldán responded on twitter, replying under Galaxy’s post that he wishes Puig nothing but the best and his foul had nothing to do with it.
Fans haven’t stopped blaming him though, his tweet seems to have made them even angrier. MLS host Andrew Wiebe has responded to the Galaxy fans, calling this a wildly irresponsible clown behavior.
In response, Seattle Sounders fans are sharing clips of Puig going down a couple minutes later in a non-contact injury.
Whatever happens, the Southern California native Roldán won’t be welcomed back in Dignity Health Sports’ Park anytime soon. 😅
