Each winter, Butterfly Pavilion volunteers and staff add color to the wintry landscape by “yarn bombing” our Discovery Garden. If you’ve never seen yarn bombing before, it is an art form that transforms structures such as buildings or street signs into colorful textile sculptures. This year, the gazebos in the outdoor Discovery Gardens have been transformed into mini-biomes, featuring rainforest, ocean, and desert invertebrates and plants. Creatures including a cheerful cuttlefish, a vivid tarantula, and even some rainbow-hued butterflies are cavorting under a rainbow sky – a cozy reminder that it takes all of us together to make the planet better for invertebrates and other living things. This is the seventh year that we’ve yarn bombed the Discovery Garden for winter. The creations will stay up until the end of February, so be sure to visit before they are gone! #YarnBomb #Yarn #Garden #ButterflyPavilion #CultureForAll
