She certainly looks ready! 🤩 Kentucky-bred MAY DAY READY, a 2-year-old daughter of Tapit, is set to make history this Sunday, Dec. 8 in Japan as she becomes the first overseas contender to ever run in the G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies at Kyoto Racecourse 🇯🇵 Regular rider Frankie Dettori has the mount.
Already a GII winner, the filly has won three of her four career starts and was most recently second to Lake Victoria in the Nov. 1 GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Del Mar.
Owned by KatieRich Stables and bred by White Birch Farm, she is trained by Joseph Lee, who collected his first career graded stakes victory this fall when May Day Ready won the GII Jessamine Stakes at Keeneland.
It’s also a homecoming of sorts for Joseph Lee, who has lived in Japan and has been traveling to and from the country for years.
Best of luck to the entire team! 👏🏼
