KNIGHTS 53, JAGS 48: The varsity boys basketball team defeated LBJ on Tuesday night at the Delco Center for their fourth consecutive win against the Jaguars. Senior George Brode, who scored 21 of the Knights’ 53 points, said that this win was huge considering McCallum’s history against LBJ, especially in basketball. “In recent years we’ve been getting the upper hand, and it’s definitely a good feeling,” Brode said. “It’s always a hard-fought battle between us and them, and it feels really good to win games like those.” The Knights swept LBJ in district last season 56-28 and 63-40, and beat the Jags 63-38 in pool play during the Austin High Tournament on Nov. 14. McCallum opened the game on Tuesday with an offensive onslaught, ending the first quarter with a 19-7 lead.
