You know it was a good trip when you’re sad it’s over. A memorable week in Japan with nine young ladies from Hawaii, bringing the Hawaii/Japan moorealoha exchange program with Makinohara City full circle. Traveling and having to figure things out on the go, experiencing other cultures and making friends in other parts of the world has taught me more about life and living than any book ever could. I think by walking in someone else’s shoes and gaining a more worldly perspective we can gain a deeper sense of empathy and understanding for humanity and the world around us. That’s the goal of this moorealoha global exchange and hope it is something I can continue to grow and connect communities around the world. Mahalo to this incredible group of ladies who have the courage to lead with their heart in a world that is strongly driven by logic.
