Kicked off basketball season last night covering Kent State Women’s at NC State. This was my first game since moving to Raleigh, so getting to cover Kent was extra special. While the 13th ranked Wolfpack added another tally to the win column, the final score, 79-51, does not reflect the whole story.
The Flashes kept it close in the 1st Quarter, only trailing by 4 Points at the buzzer. The 2nd Quarter was an equally hard-fought battle, sending the Flashes into the locker room at the half down only 5 Points. Bridget Dunn and Jenna Batsch led the way for the Flashes with a combined 8 Three Point Shots in the First Half.
The 3rd Quarter remained a battle as the Flashes put up a game-high 16 Points, led once again by Dunn and Batsch. Batsch drained 3 Free Throws to end the Quarter, putting the Flashes only 12 Points behind NC State. The Wolfpack came out hot in the 4th Quarter putting up 14 unanswered points.
