Ended my football season coverage on Saturday night with Duke v Virginia Tech. In keeping with the Kent State theme this fall, Virginia Tech’s starting QB was former Golden Flash Collin Schlee. Unfortunately Schlee left the game at the end of 1Q after sustaining a hard hit.
The Blue Devils struck first, with Murphy connecting with Pancol on an 86 Yard pass on Duke’s first play of the game. The duo struck again on the next drive to make it 14-0. With 4:39 left in 1Q Schlee found Jennings with a 65 Yard pass resulting in the Hokies first score of the game. With 30 seconds left on the clock Virginia Tech intercepted a pass by Murphy, giving the Hokies the ball to begin 2Q. Not wasting the opportunity, Greene reached the Endzone on a 21 Yard run, making it a tie ballgame. With just under 8 minutes left in the Half Love added another 3 to the board for Tech.
