Started off the week with No. 8 Duke v Virginia Tech last night at historic Cameron Indoor Stadium. This matchup marks the beginning of ACC play for the Blue Devils. The Hokies scored first off of a Jump Shot by Wenzel, Duke matched them on the next possession with a Layup by Thomas. Virginia Tech went on to score 3 more Baskets but were unable to match the 6 by the Blue Devils, ending the Quarter 15-8 Duke. The Blue Devils started the 2nd Quarter strong with back-to-back Jumpers by Okananwa. It was a true team effort, with 6 players combining for 23 Points. Virginia Tech put up 14 of their own, sending the Hokies into the locker room down 38-22 at the Half. Carleigh Wenzel put up 7 Points in the first 2 minutes of the 3rd Quarter for Virginia Tech. The Blue Devils matched them nearly shot-for-shot but the Hokies managed to outscore them 20-19 on the Quarter.
