As a West Point Grad, Purple Heart Recipient and State Department Foreign Service Officer, no one knows this better than my brother.
It is one of the reasons I asked him to run a 10K with me on Thanksgiving morning.

So my brother and I show up early the next morning, with smiles on our faces, ready to run. And run hard. Together. No headphones. No music. Just each other.
I knew as a 5K kinda girl, I would struggle from mile 4-6. My legs would be screaming at me to stop.
And sure enough, after 4 miles of pleasant life discussion, I could no longer talk. I had to focus on the next step in front of me. And the next. And so we did.
