Fairytale Ending. We’re still reeling from what we experienced yesterday. Snuck into Choripán Rodizio in Hackensack to catch a glimpse of the Final, and it was everything one could wish for. The fire department was briefly called to make sure the restaurant wasn’t over capacity, but the show wasn’t gonna be stopped. 2-0 up and it was all smiles. 2-2 in 90 seconds forced the owner to take drastic measures. His friend Daniel had sat at the exact same spot in front of the TV for all of Argentina’s wins. With the large crowd, Daniel had had to settle for a table outside. As soon as Extra Time started, a sea of people gladly cleared to let Daniel and his family sit at their lucky spot. It was just one of thousand superstitious rituals performed yesterday to nudge Messi and Co. to a World Cup victory. Coincidence or not, it worked.
