The magic of unique trees makes Japan’s landscape truly enchanting.
The first tree is the “Tree Upon a Tree,” showcasing a brilliant logging and forestry technique known as Daisugi. In this method, a single tree is expertly pruned to produce numerous straight shoots, allowing for sustainable harvesting without causing harm to the tree.
The second tree, Kokonoe Sakura, is thought to have been personally planted by an emperor 650 years ago.
The third tree is the renowned “Yuryu” Pine, considered one of Japan’s most majestic pine trees. Standing at a mere 6.5ft in height, it astonishingly extends its branches over an expansive width of 164ft.
