Now this isn’t something you have ever seen 🤯 I haven’t hunted a deer with a BOOM stick for 20 years. But, unfortunately Iowa doesn’t allow you to use a bow during gun season, even on your own land with a gun tag. I think that is really stupid, and I hope that law changes, but instead of not hunting my land until almost Christmas, I thought I’d go down memory lane and pick up an old Hawkins muzzleloader with iron sights and hunt with it. A Hawkins muzzleloader is special to me, because this muzzleloader is the exact model I shot my first buck with and 2nd buck with. So until I can use my bow again on dec 23th I’ll be hunting with this ancient Beast. It’s funny, because I can actually shoot my bow better and further. But anything inside 60 yards, I feel really good with this old muzzleloader. So we’ll see if I can pull it off 🫡 #oldschool #muzzleloader #deer #iowa
