Our fourth quarter Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting was held on Wednesday. In addition to communication and information sharing, attendees had the opportunity to observe and experience how deputies interact with individuals experiencing mental illness. A simple scenario could escalate rapidly in just a moment. Our community members expressed that handling such situations themselves was a very different experience. They praised our ongoing training methods and our approach to assisting the community. We will continue to invite community members to join us as CAC members so we can enhance our understanding of each other and provide more effective services.
